Let's talk flooring!

Evening-
Just looking for some recomendations or experiences with some equipment, mainly undercut saws, Fein, Roberts or other? Also has anyone found any kneepads that are in a league of their own? Would really appreciate the input.
Best regards, Leo the Lion

ProKnees seem to be the cadillac of knee pads.
Bosch finecut saw for undercutting:

I second the Proknees:

I agree with you Melvin, I use the Supercut for most applications and the 825 W/ diamond blade takes care of Fireplace hearths.

Proknees here as well........
I do want to get a Crain and a Fein for the exact reasons you stated, but I've never not been able to undercut something with the Bosch, it has had me covered for everything I've encountered for the last 5 years.
This is is the best one I've had, low enough to go under toe kicks and with the diamond dry cut blade cuts through rock, brick, ceramic tile fireplace hearths.

I use anything gel pad for my knees. Most of the time I don't even use them.
Proknees really are hard to beat. I've had the same pair for over ten years.( but I don't use them as much as I used to. hoho) They suck for laying carpet, though. They're just too cumbersome and "grabby".

I think the best doorjamb saw ever is the discontinued CRA810. The 812 is great for fireplaces, but not nearly as good as the 810 for doorjambs. I've never liked any of the grinder type saws, though that's more a matter of ergonomics than of utility. If I were going to buy one thing first, it would be the Fein tool. It's a pretty good jamb saw in it's own right and can do things no sideways skilsaw ever could.

Best,
CHU
I agree with you Chuck, for years I used to carry the Bosch finecut and also the Crain undercuts. Now I use the Fein saw for most all my undercutting, except the Crain 812 for hearths.

Proknees I sorely need and every year I say I'll wait till next year.
Fein saw? I can't find no fein saw. I like the 825 grinder type gets into more tight spots and under toe kicks. Plus the blades are easily obtained. The things eats through sheetrock metal corner bead pretty easily also.
The multimaster or supercut Stephen. The Crain type saws tend to blow the casing out when I exit so I started using the Bosch Finecut.... but, if you're not careful the cut line can cut high on one end because of the blade flex when pressing down on a scrap board
Good, I thought I was going crazy lol. On the crain if you enter at the corners, ... pull out before you get to the other corner and then plunge that bastard back in....in out, in out you won't blow.

Does that makes sense? Repeat that for me now.
