Flooring Installer .com

Let's talk flooring!

Looked at a Tarkett engineered job today, sunken livingroom on concrete. Got the job. Basically the two other guys were way off base with info or lack thereof.

One, the dollar fifty guy said he'd do it all for that price, including adhesive. Would use arcylic adhesive. Did not check flatness, did not say anything about moisture testing, was going to quarter round against the tile on two step downs. No license, craigslister, certified by home depot.

Other guy, licensed said, must be glued down, no comment on moisture testing or vapor retarder from either guy. Also said you can't float it and cannot put heavy furniture on floating floors anyhow. Hmmm funny how the manufacture specs floating as a installation method. Did not check flatness.

No mention of below grade by either guys. Still batting a thousand from servicemagic. These guys make it so easy.

Home Depot, not licensed?

Service Magic? Nice job!

Curious of how many SM actually send out to the customer. I've heard some real high figures...

You should see the comments on them at this site..you do have to register..I think

You need a niche to make it work or so it seems.
Home Depot guy looks like he is not employed by them anymore. Course his claim to fame is that he got certified by a laminate manufacture while working there. Hmmm wonder why he is not employed anymore?

I actually ran into them when getting to the residence as they were late for their appointment. Him and his two other guys were....well shabbly dressed. Old truck full of crap in the back, no tools and no shell.

On the last SM lead two guys showed, this time one SM guy showed. Pretty good odds.

Went to that forum and read some. Looks like those that did SM did it long time ago. Not that they have changed their ways but I have not seen any false leads yet. When I checked them out a guy called me and did a pretty good job of screening me. If I get one misleading lead they're history.

I'm certain there will be ppl who go the lowest bidder, I have not been and won them over with my knoweldge and my charrming personality. :)))
Hey, I noticed something pretty darned interesting the other day while doing a search for "hardwood floors Atlanta" Check the first listing...

Google is now grabbing SM reviews. Not easy to spot but it's there. However, you have to reach that first spot first and having a real site is needed before anything.
