Flooring Installer .com

Let's talk flooring!

For those of you who install floating floors - how do you source your underlayment.

Does the customer provide it for you?

Do you source yourself and try to sell at a markup?

Any input as to how you handle your underlayment for your own jobs, jobs for retailers or the like would be welcomed.

Just helping a friend of mine who was asking me these questions and rather than speculate myself I thought I would ask people who actaully know something.

Thanks

Not enough money in it for the hassle. Most of my clients buy it with the flooring.
A friend of mine is starting an underlayment company called www.underyoo.com which will offer several types of underlayment for middle market players who can't buy at low prices like multi-truckload buyers, but who still need to be able to compete aggressively. Flooring installers, flooring dealers and general contractors are all potential customers.

The website itself is still under development, but he would welcome if you guys have any advice about what types of underlayment or related products would make sense.

Thanks in advance.
Steve, I like The Silencer for underlayments on floating wood jobs and laminate. I think it's the best. Not much more than the el cheapo stuff at the box stores.

Thanks for the info. I have used that product over the years too. The prices and quality at www.underyoo.com from what I can see appear to be compelling. More on this once he gets launched.

thx
I just heard the Silencer is going strictly recycled.
