Flooring Installer .com

Let's talk flooring!

I have a install of 5" Q & R to do with 2" tile transitions to deal with. One is straight, one is a half circle fireplace hearth and one is 22 feet of a S curve with a 1/4 circle at one end. I need to make a reducer to transition from the tile to new wood foor elevations. I will be laminating this bend to be one 22' long piece, that's the easy part but my question to all you floor Gods is how would you go about cutting the bevel of the reducer with such a massive and curving hunk of lumber?? I do have a way I believe would be best but would like to hear some other Ideas that maybe I missed. Thank you all!!

great site, geo.... thanks
Tis a great site but I don't believe that that is the look Groover is after in something sitting shiplapped over the floor.......
Nice find Geo, As Dale mentioned I need a reducer that is 1 1/4" high about 3 1/2-4" wide. Plus that would be too easy. LOL
way to wide for router. table saw against a fence, finesse and slow control on the outer sweeps, helpers on each end. inside corners tuff. nose of belt sander, mark levels along edge & top for guides., only for a pro, don't try this at home..... good luck buddy.
anxious for the pix
No it's not too wide for a router, the overall bevel doesn't need to extend the entire width, just enough to create the profile. The reducer in this case would serve two purposes as a Reducer and a header board of sorts. Once the bevel is created the rest is shaped or smoothed down/out with a sander or by hand.
still down to "these two hands"
