Let's talk flooring!

House is about 20 years old.  Original sheet lino down over plywood.  Will I need to rip this stuff up? Im installing 3/4 unfinished oak.  I imagine its about 3/16th inch thick.  They dont' mind the height difference if we go over top.

If you are laying it over ONE sheet of lino and that is on the subfloor you should be ok. Even if you had a 1/4" ply under the lino you should be ok.

IF you are going to glue any areas, I recommend wiping the lino with a solvent to clean it prior. You dont want the glue not to adhere.
I've cut the linoleum away down to the subfloor where glue was needed in the past.
If areas need gluing over sheet vinyl, I'll rough it up by hand with some opencoat.
