john, the festool is great, plan on spending more $. they also have the best paper. IMO. (Crystal). only down side is that you have to reduce vacuum suction to avoid the hop. Allen beebe i think had a good remedy for that. 5" is great for stairs and risers. 6 " is going to be more powerful.... i heard the makita ros was the most aggressive but alittle harder to get dustless. skip the bosch, works but bad in design...
John,

I have the Festool 125 because I wanted a smaller dual mode machine that could get into tighter areas, but the Bosch 1250 which I have as well is a great machine, my help likes the Bosch better. We use the Abranet screen discs that have improved both the dust pickup and the sanding efficiency......You won't go wrong with either machine.
Could you explain sanding efficiency ??? Does your screen sand better then paper?? If so why??
Groover,

We feel that the screen disc sands out the edger marks and whatnot quicker leaving a better surface. I feel it has to do with the more efficient removal of sanding fines that aren't as apt to clog the grit of the more solid paper.
Ok, what grit? I know you're a big screener so edges being too smooth probably is not a problem, we orbit edges and square buff with sandpaper after final pass with BM. "We feel" ;) that the paper helps with bringing all textures of different sanders together so no light edges or hallways and "whatnot" ;)

Btw; Bring one or two of you're screens to DC so's I's can tri's it!!
What screen disc? Linkie? I thought you showed it in a video once but I don't want to go back and watch all of them tryin to find it..... Link or ban! lol
Ok bring me a pad protcetor as well. ;)
I was speaking to Everett..............

But seeing that your feelings would be hurt, what size orbital 5" or 6"?
No, No, I appreciate the gesture but I couldn't! I will have to get some to try on my own....Cough Cough Cou> 5" >gh. :)
80g
I've had the Bosch for a few years now... geez Dale.. remember when I bought that thing?.......
I like it alot.. We ros our stair nosing and this machine is too bulky for that and for risers imo. The dual mode is sweet. Plus I beat the hell out of that thing... Shop around I found it 50-60 bucks cheaper on the last site I was at.. I think I bought mine at Tool King if I remember correctly
