Let's talk flooring!

"Can you just give it a light sanding? We don't have much money". Heard that one again this week and several times over the years.I know I'm not getting the job but it's worth the drive for the chuckle I get.I'm sure you all have a favourite.Bring it on. I need some comic relief...Foggy

How about " My floor is slippery"

Me: Well it must be your cleaner

HO: No it's not it's your finish

Then I make the trip out and wipe the floor down with DA or Goof off and amazing the floor isn't slippery any more.....

I thoroughly enjoy when Im driving.. someone rolls down their window and yells.. "Hey... yo!!  How much a square foot!!!????"...

Ok.... welllll.. How much if we stain and finish it?

Memphis Grizzles called and said Poloplaz finish was terrible because it was so slippery. I asked what cleaner they were using. He told me and I told him his cleaner was bad. I told him to use Tie Tack. He had me overnight him at $125 per gallon haz mat fee. He called a day later and said his basketball players thanked him for fixing the floors.

"Will the finish fill in those huge gaps?"

E,

I just did a floor where we installed a Bedroom and Office floor, then buffed and coated the Kitchen/ foyer. The HO said that she decided to buff-n-coat the Kitchen/ foyer because there were gaps in the floor......LOL

Nice Floor btw, Tiger wood?

I guess it's not a regional issue.People ask the same ridiculous questions no matter where you are.I've devoted some time lately to perfecting my smart ass answers.seems like the only logical approach.Frankly it's the legitimate questions that I'm getting tired of responding to.

Foggster,,

I like when I present a proposal and I'm asked if that is my best price, inside my smart ass answer is looking to come out and say "No I lied to you the 1st time around"...but professionalism quells my inner smart ass lol

Ok I thought of one, you just get done measuring up a complicated layout and they ask ya "so how many feet is it?"

Just had one recently where the customer walked the floor and kept pointing out the overwood, I asked if I could sand and finish the floor 1st?

Had 1 like that,  when I came back Monday for sanding. they had about 100 pieces of sticky notes with arrows pointing to small voids and overwood. I said, "So you never had a sanded on site floor before"
