PROBLEM:

When California’s upscale health club Renaissance Club Sport needed to install a 7,000-square-foot designer floor in just eight days, contractors turned to ARDEX for a solution.


SOLUTION:

ARDEX SD-T SELF-DRYING, SELF-LEVELING CONCRETE TOPPING was chosen in both gray and white to create the designer concrete floor. ARDEX SD-T is a self-drying material that is typically fully hardened after just 2-3 hours, making it ideal for this fast-track project.

The substrate was first primed with ARDEX EP 2000™ SUBSTRATE PREPARATION EPOXY PRIMER, a highly reactive epoxy that bonds tenaciously to the substrate to help protect the aesthetic quality of ARDEX underlayments and toppings. ARDEX EP 2000 is ready to receive ARDEX products in just 16 hours.

The quick installation time of this flooring system gave the concrete designer ample time to complete and implement the floor layout designs. As ARDEX SD-T can be pigmented and/or topically stained with materials that are recommended for use with standard concrete, the designer options were virtually limitless.
