You'd have to see this house, it's an old farm house with Chestnut floors and trim throughout, except the kitchen area where we're at which is trimmed out in pine. The floor fits the room, but the house per se. In talking with the HO yesterday, she wanted something more in line with a wider plank and in Heart Pine when this was installed about 10 years ago. Her flooring contractor said that they couldn't locate anything like that and offered up the SYP, so here we are.........Overall the look isn't bad, the flooring is soft obviously and they'll have to recoat a bit more frequently with the traffic the area receives.

Looks like a huge sheet of plywood. What is your take on syp as far a quality of wood and looks?
