Eric,

We refinish alot of 5/16 facenailed strip over here, means setting nails across the entire surface of the floor. Yet you have to assess each floor as they present themselves, not every floor is a candidate for a full trowel. Take minimal time to apply, usually try to trowel it just before lunch, if not Final Touch dries pretty quick and it doesn't need to be fully dry. I cut four times so I fill after 60g and remove it with 80, final touch doesn't clog the paper.

Hey Dale looks like you trowel fill everything . No one up here really does it - i'm always afraid that when the joints close up in the summer that it will cause issues --such as slight buckling or the filler will just come out. I've tried it a few times and for me it was time consuming and waiting for it to dry blew. When do you apply it after rough cut? I think after mid cut , it would just clog the fine paper - No ?

Nora,

Final Touch wood filler. The Squeegy was sent to me by Final Touch along with several products to test for them, I'd assume that you could just buy one at HomeDepot or Lowes, but trowelling from hands and knees with regular Trowel or Drywall Knife is better. 1st you can see what needs to be filled better when you're down on the floor and go over those areas that need to be worked in. 2nd it makes better use of the filler......

Dale a few questions - what sort of wood filler did you use?
Are you still using this method?
Where did you find such a squeegy?

Stephen,

That's the 1st time that I ever tried the squeegy, but I don't feel that it left enough on the floor to be concerned with what was being wasted. Even if it's a 1/3 more being used you're pencil is to sharp if that is what concerns you........

Arn't you wasting a lot though or is it not enough to worry about?

Definitely thicker than using a trowel, but not so thick that it would cause a problem. It sanded off very easily with 80g
